WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

This webinar will provide a summary of current evidence regarding school bullying, based upon “The role of the therapist” in Evelyn’s currently being updated version of “Bully Blocking at school”. This will include discussion of the research into the impact of school bullying; why students are injured or injure others; the school and parents' roles; and current theories as regards diagnosis and treatment. There will be a brief mention of the connection to workplace bullying.

The webinar will look at the social survival skills model based on Evelyn’s butterfly (Bully Blocking 2007). Evelyn will address diagnosis and treatment of bullied students based upon current evidence and based upon “Diagnosis and treatment of bullied adults” (Field and Ferris, Springer 2021). She will also describe her new book (not yet off the press, but available prior to the webinar): “Harry the Bully Blocker” the book and audiobook with the rationale for therapy based upon using one’s fight/flight/freeze instinct, with examples. Evelyn will provide suggestions for incorporating “Harry” in training parents, teachers and therapists.

“Harry the Bully Blocker” is therapy in a nutshell. It is a simple book with complex layers, suitable for children from diverse backgrounds.

PLEASE NOTE: the purchase of the book or audio-book will be required for those registering for the webinar as Evelyn will be referring to the book as part of the webinar.
