APDT was founded by Dianne Starkey to provide colleagues with opportunities for professional development. Dianne organises high quality professional development training on a wide range of topics for mental health professionals and other members of the community at affordable prices.





Dianne Starkey has worked as a Psychologist and Clinical Psychologist for over 40 years. She has extensive experience in the treatment of children, adolescents and adults as well as assessments of children, adults and families (including assessments for various courts of NSW and Victoria).


Dianne taught at the Nepean College of Advanced Education and the University of Western Sydney for over 13 years, teaching practical counselling skills, psychological assessment techniques and developmental psychology principles.


Dianne is a well-known Clinical Psychologist in the area of child protection and the treatment of trauma and has run workshops in the areas of trauma treatment, attachment theory and the treatment of attachment disorder, as well as many other topics.  Dianne has been the Co-ordinator of the Child Adolescent and Family Interest Group and has been involved in the organisation and presentation of workshops for its members for over 10 years.  


Dianne continues to run a busy private practice in Constitution Hill but is interested in expanding her role in the organisation of workshops for colleagues and clients in the future.
